41-45 overs
Score: 245/5
After losing three quick wickets, including that of set batsman Gautam Gambhir, Suresh Raina took the guard as he added 36 runs without the loss of a wicket. Raina has been well supported by Pathan who has managed to rotate the strike at regular intervals.
36-40 overs
Score: 209/5
A lot happened in these five overs. Malinga who has been questioned for his performances against India of late bowled Dhoni (31) off the first ball of the 35th over. It was one of his unplayable dead Yorkers and Dhoni who plays Malinga pretty well was deceived on this occasion. Malinga’s celebrations didn’t end, nor did Rohit Sharma’s bad form as he was out for a first-ball duck. Suresh Raina survived the hat-trick ball as he flicked it towards the on side. As wickets fell in quick successions, Gambhir reached his 11th ODI hundred. But soon after reaching the three-figure mark, Gambhir (102) was run out as India lost three wickets in quick successions and Sri Lanka began to command the proceedings.
31-35 overs
Score: 180/2
Indian skipper Dhoni and Gautam Gambhir did not take any risks as they added 22 runs in 30 balls.
26-30 overs
Score: 158/2
Dhoni and Gambhir added 24 runs in these five overs, both of them hitting one boundary each.
21-25 overs

Caught & bowled!
Virat Kohli has to walk back to the pavilion after playing one back to Rangana Herath who accepted a simple chance putting an end to his knock of 38 runs that included two boundaries. Indian captian MS Dhoni walks in.
16-20 overs
Score: 86/1
Gautam Gambhir has completed second consecutive century against Sri Lanka. It has been a brisk knock from the former vice-captain of Indian team that has seen him striking seven boundaries. Kohli is providing a solid support.
11-15 overs
Score: 86/1
Gambhir is nearing his fifty as India continue their chase without any trouble.
6-10 overs
Score: 58/1
The run rate has been pretty decent and the Indian team seems unaffected by the departure of Sehwag early in the innings. Gambhir has been joined by Virat Kohli in the middle with the former taking charge scoring five boundaries so far.
1-5 overs
Score: 28/1
India lost the wicket of Virender Sehwag in the second over of their innings when he attempted a drive off Thisara Perera but was caught by substitute fielder Senanayake at short cover. He left after scoring just 6.
SRI LANKAN INNINGS
46-50 overs
Score: 286/5
The partnership between Mathews and Mendis has been a fruitful one for Lanka as they have recovered from early jitters to post
286/5
in their quota of 50 overs. They accelerated particularly in the last 10 overs of the innings collecting 97 runs. Mathews scored his 11th ODI fifty ending unbeaten on 71 while Mendis scored 45*.
The pair collected 16 runs from the last over of their innings bowled by Dinda that included a six off the second ball and a four off the last.
For India Zaheer Khan took two wickets in his 10 overs giving 39 runs. Dinda was the costliest one leaking 76 in his 10 without any success.
41-45 overs
Score: 236/5
The partnership between Jeevan Mendis and Angelo Mathews is looking good as the pair has so far added 54 runs. Dinda’s penultimate delivery of his eight over was a shot one and Mendis sent it past the fence over midwicket for a six. Run rate has improved to 5.24.
36-40 overs
Score: 189/5
Ashok Dinda has put an end to Sanga’s innings by having him caught at point. Dinda bowled one full and outside off as Sanga looked to make room for a shot but had to reach out for it ending up gifting a simple catch to Virat Kohli at point. He departs after scoring 73(95b, 4X5).
31-35 overs
Score: 165/4
Sri Lanka should be aiming for anything around 260-270 from here. They have wickets in hand and a set batsman in Sangakkara.
26-30 overs
Score: 145/4
Rahul Sharma has broken the stand as he has trapped Jayawardene in front the wickets. Pitched on middle and leg, the ball struck Mahela on the pads and umpire Dharmasena had no hesitation raising his finger giving India the much needed breakthrough. He goes after scoring 65 (79b, 4X5).
20-25 overs
Score: 114/3
Mahela Jayawardene has completed his 68th ODI fifty. He took 65 deliveries to reach the milestone and has so far hit four boundaries. R Ashwin and Rahul Sharma have bowled three overs each without leaking too many runs.
11-20 overs
Score: 92/3
Mahela and Sanga have stemmed the fall of wickets and have taken the score to 92/3. The run rate is quite slow at 4.60 but the good news is that both of them have played cautiously and have refrained from playing any rash stroke. Jayawardene (38*) Sangakkara (31*).
6-10 overs
Score: 40/3
So far the bowlers have dominated the proceedings. Sri Lanka have lost their third batsman in Dinesh Chandimal. Irfan Pathan pitched one in the middle that struck Chandimal on the back pad. The bowler and fielders went up in unison as umpire Dharmasena raised his finger. Chandimal has a long walk back to the pavilion after a duck.
Sangakkara and Jayawardene did score 13 runs from the 10th over bowled by Pathan to ease some pressure.
0-5 overs
Score: 19/2
Quite an unusual dismissal!
Tillakaratne Dilshan defended one from Zaheer Khan that bounced and then went past him to hit the stumps. The batsman, unaware of what was transpiring, set off for a single, only to realise that he has been bowled. Sri Lanka have lost their first wicket in Dilshan who went after scoring just 4 runs.
The next wicket to fall was that of Upul Tharanga. He went after a delivery from Zaheer that was moving away, looking to play it on the off side. However, the ball went into the safe hands of keeper MS Dhoni after taking an edge. He departs after scoring 8.
The match is underway and left-arm pacer Zaheer Khan has the ball. For Sri Lanka, Tillakaratne Dilshan and Upul Tharnga are on crease.
TOSS:
Sri Lankan captain Mahela Jayawardene has won the toss and elected to bat first.
