Muzaffarnagar riots: SIC begins probe, visits villages

The Uttar Pradesh government has set up a special investigation cell (SIC) to probe the riots in Muzaffarnagar earlier this month, which claimed 49 lives. "An SP-level officer would head the cell," Principal Secretary, Home, R M Srivastava said here on Monday.

Former horticulture minister granted bail in embezzlement case

A district court granted bail to Sikkim Horticulture Minister Tsering Gyurme following his indictment by Special Investigation Cell (Vigilance) for embezzling public money to tune of Rs 2.36 crore.
